kay quilts for a cause
A note from Kay

I've been quilting for over 30 years — ever since my grandmother pressed a needle and thread into my hands and said, 'Make something beautiful.' I never stopped. What started as a quiet hobby in my living room grew into something I never expected: a community of generous souls who believe, like I do, that handmade things carry a kind of love that can't be manufactured.

Caring for your quilt
Each quilt is made with 100% cotton fabrics and 50-weight, 3-ply extra-long staple Egyptian cotton thread.
Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 Cotton-Poly batting gives every quilt a soft drape and beautiful antique puckering.
Twin size quilts measure approximately 70 × 90 inches — perfect for a twin bed, sofa throw, or picnic blanket — and are easy to wash at home.
All quilts are machine-pieced and quilted at 11 stitches per inch, and come pre-washed with Synthrapol to prevent color bleeding.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my quilt shrink?
No. Quilts are pre-washed before they leave the studio. Any residual shrinkage (3–5%) is already accounted for in the piecing process, so your finished quilt will measure approximately 70 × 90 inches.
How do I wash and dry my quilt?
Machine wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Let it soak for 1 hour, then run a delicate cycle. Use an extra spin to remove excess water. Tumble dry on low heat until damp, then spread flat or drape over a shower rod to finish air drying. Do not use dryer sheets, and do not dry clean.
How long will my quilt last?
Handmade cotton quilts last for decades with proper care and actually become softer and more comfortable over time. We recommend keeping quilts away from pets — their nails can snag the quilting thread or tear the fabric.
